The trouble begins when I jump from one string to another. I let ringing the one which I started to jump and well... i'm not the greatest guitarist, so the sound is like crap... I NEED SOME HELP PLEASE!!!

The best thing to do IMO is to practice, practice and practice. That's pretty much the only way to get good at playing guitar or any instrument for that matter.

Every free minute practice practice practice. Doesn't take long to get "decient" at guitar. In other words just hold your own and be a guitarist.

First start off learning the songs with little/no distortion and get every note to ring out clearly and loud. Then flip on some distortion and learn to mute your mistakes appropriately to clean your technique up.

I'm learning a bit of string skipping atm, from Racer X's "Scarified", I've worked at it for weeks now and can finally play it at top speed, it just takes time, lots of time!

Second time I see it crop up in a thread in a very short interval... I've struck a language barrier. What does string skipping mean?

String skipping is the opposite of strumming.

I think this is string skipping, when you "skip" one string

Another thing to keep in mind is you're going to be really warmed up after 1-2 hours of playing and this is the best time to work on this, or any other technique you're trying to sharpen. You'll be frustrated all to hell if you try to do things you're not used to the second you pick up your guitar.

Good song to practice string skipping on: Cryptopsy - Emaciate.

It's a really hard song to play, but just do it at a super slow pace and practice the hell out of it.
