Well ok just busted out my tuner and it's not super accurate, it's about 10% off but the innaccuracy is barely audiable. It also works with 10 cent euro coins.
I didn't adjust springs or change strings when I swapped the tuning in my guitar from D to drop C yesterday, so it's essentially all the same, I think it may just be that the strings are a little old hence aren't stretching into tune appropriately.
Could be very useful for when playing around the house and don't feel like retuning your dropped tuning floyd for a standard song, give it a shot.

I took a 1 euro coin and wedged it in the space between the tail of the Floyd bridge and saddle block locking screw, exactly like the D-Tuna does. Came into D tuning perfectly from the drop C i had it in, apparently the coin is just the right size for doing this. Might take 2 american quarters for it to work. So long as you're careful the coin won't come out of place.
