Haha just made my own Floyd D-tuna.

And it only cost me a buck. I took a 1 euro coin and wedged it in the space between the tail of the Floyd bridge and saddle block locking screw, exactly like the D-Tuna does. Came into D tuning perfectly from the drop C i had it in, apparently the coin is just the right size for doing this. Might take 2 american quarters for it to work. So long as you're careful the coin won't come out of place.

Yeah.

Well ok just busted out my tuner and it's not super accurate, it's about 10% off but the innaccuracy is barely audiable. It also works with 10 cent euro coins.

I didn't adjust springs or change strings when I swapped the tuning in my guitar from D to drop C yesterday, so it's essentially all the same, I think it may just be that the strings are a little old hence aren't stretching into tune appropriately.

Could be very useful for when playing around the house and don't feel like retuning your dropped tuning floyd for a standard song, give it a shot.

I wonder if any parts of the mechanics/guitar will suffer from having a focused point of pressure that a coin brings. Probably not ona short time basis but maybe in the long run. Nice thinking though

Should be the same kind of pressure that an EVH D-tuna submits the bridge to, but yeah not something I'm planning on using seriously.
