Clairvoyant Memories

Its been a little while since i've written anything worth keeping. I wrote this one based off a new song i finished writing. This song completely and utterly sums up exactly what i wanted to do with both the song and the lyrics. Be looking around for me posting the finish product tomorrow. Although the recording isn't the GREATEST that i've done, it works and i just wanted to get it down on my computer and finished. So its slightly rushed. Anyways.

Clairvoyant Memories

"Chorus"
Please give me your hands
These circles were never made to break
Your unseen shackles
You'll never break from them

"Verse"
Scenes so dreadful
Even the blind could see
Bleached visions were all
but far and gone

Anguish, stained
Lapsed, deranged
Wretched, yet un-forgotten

"Chorus"
Please give me your hands
These circles were never made to break
Dire unseen choices
You'll never stray far from them

"Bridge"
What does it mean to be in discordance?
Plagued by the illusionary forces.

"Fast bridge with slow words"
Lay down your guilt and pain
Your sheath is wearing thin
Screaming penance
Can this be clairvoyance?

"Finale"
Deliver your repose
These emotions you'll know,
Every questioned ever asked
Forgotten but will come back

I'm real curious to hear how you hooked this one up. It's a pretty cool lyric. seems kind of trippy to me, but that might not be the way you're hearing it.

Make sure you save it more than just one place incase something messes up.
Isn't it cool when you hit on a piece that really feels 100% right? I think I've done that only a few times and it's really a great feeling.

Amadeus:Oh, and was there a cesserole (never mind spelling) involved?

Ya rock, dude. Stuff like this I like having a lyric sheet with so I can get a fuller appreciation since I wouldn't know what the hell was being said otherwise. But that sounded cool. I liked the solo work before the finale and could definitely hear In Flames influences.

The only gripe I'd have with it is to tighten it up a little bit more so it sounds more synchronized and it would be perfect.

Thanks for sharing that.

Gotcha. You are refering to tightening up the vocals right?

Yeah i most definately love reading lyrics with music that i really like. Definately like you said a fuller appreciation of it. Because if you just read lyrics you can see them good, but you kind of don't get that rhythm that the person puts in the music when its designed. So you end up thinking its one way and when you hear the song its not.

To be honest i barely have much direct influence from in flames in my music haha. (i'm thinking about incorporating more though). By saying that i just have the melo death genre highly influencing my solos and writing. But ti guess since in flames had alot to do with the creation of the entire genre.. i guess i'll say they have influenced me haha.

Well, I like In Flames so that's not a bad thing. It sounds a lot different than what I thought it would, but that can be fun. Once in a great while something just has a fit that's obvious, but this isn't one of those.

Yeah, the vocals seemed to be force fit in places. One place in particular, and I'm not sure the exact time, it seemed like you were hesitating more than you should. If it was timed just right it could add a little punch to it.

That's pretty cool you're a one man band, but I hope you find some compatible players to take some of the load off you! I'll listen to the other song later.

That song has been there for awhile hahah. I posted lyrics to that song almost a year ago i'm sure.

Can you tell me which part you think i seemed hesitant? I might go back and rerecorded the vocals.

I listened to both songs. I definitely see the difference. This one is more polished. And I can't really tell where I was talking about yesterday. Today I listened without reading the lyric at the same time so maybe it was my own interpretation getting in the way. Sounds cool to me.

Funny enough, the other song is probably more "polished" than this one, but the difference i think is me dual layering guitar tracks, which only until RIGHT now i've done. And the vocals now (to me) are ages beyond my recordings up until this one.

Up next is this other song that i have no lyrics for that has been sitting around for awhile. Called The Final Solace.

I like that title. If it's going to be something heavy, a reprise of that title in a more mellow (like the intro to CM) would be a cool instrumental.

You definetly have something worth getting band members for here.

The lyrics catched my interest and did have a bit more depth than many works on the subject. However, I was thinking as I was listening, if maybe it would benefit from a bit of clear singing as well? There's always fun to be had, finding vocal melodies fitting into this kind of music.
