Need Mic Tips
Okay, im looking for a mic for recording purposes..i want to transfer my vocals to my computer, or is there a mic i can record directly onto my computer? I sing throaty, comparable to Jesse leech's vocals..any tips on what mic i might be looking for? any help is appreciated. thanks.
also, im not looking for a crappy gaming headset, i want an actual microphone made for screaming, not just some shitty headset or regular PA mic lol

how would you record vocals?
we go to one of our friends that is just getting good at recording and when he records my vocals it sounds like shit and nothing like my real ones
he makes me use the condenser mic so i have to cup my hands over it
is there any other mic that would work?
thanks

i often use my pc-mic, as long as you're not breathing in it, the results can be pretty clear

So all of you guys are vocalists or what?
If you want to capture a good sound image for your voice you have to find the mic which works for your vocals.
As for mics that work with the computer, none. You'll have to buy a pre that plugs in through USB. Then you can plug your mic into that.

i don't think microphones are so specific that they dont sound as good if im singing lamb of god instead of killswitch engage, i was just looking for a good microphone that could handle my screams, because i've dealt with a few PA mics and they sound shitty because the frequency of my scream or somthing..or its to loud..

I just use a Samson Q7. Works great for recording or live shit. I use it for recording drums, guitar, vocals...you name it. Handles it all very well and very clearly. And you can just get an adapter so it can plug right into your sound card.
