Concept Albums
What are some of the cooler concept albums you can think of, whether it's musically, lyrically or both?
Deeds of Flesh - Inbreeding the Anthropophagi
King Diamond - Conspiracy
King Diamond - Them
Iced Earth - The Glorious Burden
Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
Dream Theater - Scenes From a Memory
It would be cool if some of the more extreme bands would do this sortof thing, but it hasn't quite happened that way so far.

Not metal, but Fantomas - Delirium Cordia. One of my top 3 favorite albums of all time.

define concept album? alot of albums that take the tag 'concept' follow a theme. what about albums that simply have a strong 'concept'?
celtic frost - monotheist
december wolves - blasterpiece theatre
today is the day - sadness will prevail

I think the rule of thumb is that anything that seems like it could be a concept album is a concept album, regardless of authorial intent.

Symphony X - The Odyssey
Jag Panzer - Thane to the Throne
the new Judas Priest cd is said to be a concept album about Nostradamus
