I have decided to expand my horizons, and Cd-collection, and thought I would buy a Death album. Only, I don't know which. I have heard Spirit Crusher and Voice of the Soul, and I really like both songs. Which album should I get? Any suggestions?

ahhhh death metal finally, and GOOD death metal at that.


Sound of Perseverance is overall the most mature, well written and just plain awesome Death album. So really, you can start with that if you want since you've heard a few off of it.

Every single Death album kicks ass, these are my three favorites.

The Sound of Perseverance is definitely Death's best stuff. (it has Spirit Crusher and Voice of the Soul)

My 2nd favorite album is "Symbolic". I'd say it resembles the same style are "Sound of...". It's just a really kick ass album with wonderful riffs and leads.


One song every Death fan shouldn't be without is "Pull The Plug". They end their live DVD from LA with that song....and man does it ever fucking rule.

Aint it great when they play the Charlie's Angels theme as the intro to Pull the Plug? Fuckin hilarious.

I'd suggest one or two or three, but they'd be the same as slayme's. Though any Death album you get would be damn good. I guess a sampler of them all would be Live in LA.

fuck, I forgot the Live album. Yeah, the Charlies Angel's theme was always somethin I thought was fuckin funny.

aaahhh the sound of preserverence (sp?) kicks soooooooo much ass. I am now a huge death fan. That album really, really touched me. Its so damn good. Great soloing, harmanizing, fast intense riffs, piercing vocals, ahhh its orgasmic.

lol i remeber when you posted that, you should have punched him. I got symbolic a few weeks ago, just incredable, not as good as perservence but its damn close. Death RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im also getting a death shirt from the symbolic shirt that says "Let the metal flow" on the back.

Also notice, thier is a big vocal change on sound of perserverence. Which style do you like best. I personaly find it like this, if you want a head banging song to ripp on your guitar with, i like the old style. But if you want to sit back and tottaly absoreb the feeling of death and the meaning behind it, sound of per. Also mabey he did it that way also, to serperate it from the other albums.
