Speaker Question

Hi!

I am good and well informed in playing and composing but awful and ignorant in the technical stuff so please excuse my question if it seems absurd.
Assume you blow your amplifier speaker, do only the speakers of the amp get dysfunctioned and will replacing them solve the full problem? Or does some other part of the amp also get affected? Will the line out or recording out of the amp get affected by the blown speakers or not? When you use the line out for recording does that use the amp speakers?

Thank You metal heads!

Yes if your speaker is blown, replacing it will solve the problem. Line outs and direct outs do not go to the speaker, its basically sending the signal straight from the amp. So no, direct or line outs will not be affected by a blown speaker.

If you DO replace the speaker be sure that it has the same resistance (ohms) as your blown one. Or at least dont get a speaker with lower resistance because it could mess your amp up.
