Help! Midi connection.

I just got my first rack rig going and I have a small question... My preamp is an ADA MP-1 and my effects units is a Rocktron Xpression. How would I connect these for midi usage??

If my preamp as the following :

Thru Out In

and my effects unit as this:

In Thru/Out
X X

How would I connect these for midi usage? would i use the "OUT" or "THRU" midi connection of the preamp to connect my effects unit?

I just traded my Marshall JCM900 and a few pedals because I wanted to lighten up my rig and wanted a little more diversity. But this midi crap is busting my balls!

Congrats on getting an MP-1, i've got one myself, and it's an amazing piece of kit

The way i've got it set up is; MIDI controller OUT -> MP-1 IN -> MP-1 THRU -> Effects unit IN

You won't regret the MP-1, some people say that you can't get good sounds out of it without modding it, but it's not true- if it's good enough for Iron Maiden, it's good enough for me!

Thanks man!

Well I already got a tight sound out of it. Its a little noisy but nothing a HUSH can't handle And another reason why I got this unit was the fact that Bobby Gustafson recorded the Years of decay album with it. I guess it might have been modified but still, the base was there!! Thanks again for the input!
