Alot of Dream Theater would give you some good Low B action, check out their album Awake in particular.

If I had to guess I would say that half of bass players in metal bands today are making use of more than four strings ... so just check out tons of bands.
Also, if you're just looking to get used to the B string, there are ALOT of songs in metal that extensively use the open E string (or Eb or whatever its tuned to), so you can learn these songs except you use the B string to achieve these notes instead.
That way a song that is drop D for example you can learn without having to tune down.
I've got to admit though that some songs will be very diffcult with this method.

Rex Brown used to use a 4 string, but later on he started using a 5 string in the later Pantera records and with Down.

Given the drop B and drop C tunings, I don't blame him for using a five.
And it's wonderfull to know you're alive Tattered.

Haha yeah, I can see how that could happen quite easily.
I like John Mayer, very nice stuff. He did a duet with aussie Pete Murray a while ago on tv, and his guitar work was just beautiful.

Pino plays with John Mayers little trio thing, I was referring to the guy that played with just "John Mayer".

ISIS' bass player plays a 4 string bass but tunes it to Drop B, so you could learn their stuff, only you'd have to transpose.
And mudvayne has switched to Drop C, I think Ryan is playing a 4 string live now, although it's probably tuned to BEAD.

the one thing i hate about five stringed basses is that theres no neck room for technical stuff like slapping, unless you get a custom wide neck i guess. anyone know any standard 5 string basses with wide necks?
Also i think the guy from Cryptopsy uses a five string, that dude can rip it up thats forsure

ehm...bullshit?
you just have to be more careful with your placement.
Learn the spacing and know it, let the bass be an extension of you.

Actually, here recently is when he started using his B string more. He used a 5 string almost all the time during the L.D. 50 days, but I don't think he ever actually used it. He used it on Mercy, Severity on TEOATTC, and he used it on several songs on Lost and Found. (Examples: Happy, IMN [a lot in that song,] Choices, etc. I know, because I have the Lost and Found tab book. Back when I was in my little nu-metal stage, I was obsessed with them. Now that I'm more of a "true" metalhead, I've lost intrest in most nu-metal. Mudvayne are about the only nu-metal band I care for anymore, and a lot of that is because Ryan Martinie is amazing. (Although they're more alt. metal if you ask me.)
And my best bet would be learning some Dimmu Borgir songs from Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia and on. What Dimmu usually do now-a-days is use a certain type of power chord (can't think of what it's called) where the guitars are tuned standard, and say if it was playing:
[ ]
[ ]
[ ]
[4 444]
[2 222]
[2 222]
The bass would be playing this on his standard tuned 5 string:
[ ]
[ ]
[ ]
[ ]
[0 000]

was Nile mentioned already? I believe Flea used a fiver on Blood Sugar as well.
edit: oh, and I believe the later two Atheist albums featured some five action.
