Crate Blue VooDoo 6212

I'm looking to buy a practical amp with a budget between $300-$400. I'd definitely like amp recommendations.

Anyway I've had my eye on a Blue Voodoo amp for quite some time and just wanted to know if anyone has any idea on how good this amp is? The most I'd be doing with it is playing at home and a small field house auditorium.

I want to know what I should expect from an amp like this.

Thanks in advanced for your help.

What to expect? Kick-ass tone, but also expect to have swap in a new input jack as they crap out on all the BV combo series.

How are the cleans on the amp? and do you know if there are any samples I can find of it being played, or some one that actually uses the model.

I have no idea how to replace an input jack, but it's a used one so I would think that it would have a new input by now. I'll have to ask the seller.

Oh yeah do you know anything about the cleans for the amp?

You asked about the cleans twice. Yes the BV series pulls of very good cleans. Cannibal Corpse used it. Many old death metal bands did.

i dont know if i would say very nice but it is exremely useful. its a good clean, but not a wonderful glassy clean. i acctually prefer the warmer clean of my bv over the cliche fender clean.

Managed to find this.

From what it seems changing power tubes shouldn't be an issue, but it doesn't say anything about changing preamp tubes. This will be my first time with a tube amp, should I take it to a tech to have tubes changed?

Also for some reason they didn't include a headphone jack anyone know if you can get an adapter that will allow me to use headphones?

Why were these amps discontinued?
