I cant wait to see all the new Ibanez shit, there will be 2 new Ibanez Jems next year: A 20th Anniversary model that's a very closely guarded secret, and a new model called 77VBK, which will look a bit like a 6 string version of the UV777BK Universe, but with a pearl vine on the neck instead of pyramids (and without the pyramid body inlay). Dimarzio Breed pickups.
There will also be a reissue of the original 1987 RG550 for the 20th anniversary, in black, Desert Sun Yellow and Roadflare Red, limited to 1,987 guitars worldwide.
And a Prestige 8 string RG.  |

Wow. I can't wait for those Jems. I wonder if the 77VBK will have the monkey grip? They should bring back those lower case Jems as well but obviously make them better. LOL I think the 20th Anniversary is a 7 string with the monkey grip and multi coloured. Like the one he used on Passion And Warfare. Not sure tho.
I am getting that Reissue for sure. Roadflare Red. Now if Ibanez really wanted to be cool they'd put a Kahler on that baby like they had back in the 80s.
I must try and 8 string.

i hope there is a 6 string version of the universe, i will be getting that for sure.
i heard they are only creating 1987 re-issues, so the chances are that i wont be able to get one.
you can see the shadows falls signature guitar in the background. its the black rga with the white graphic bellow the bridge. quite cool, i would prefer it without the graphics tho. |

Why would you want to get an 'antique' anyway, RG's have barely changed over the years.

I find it ironic that Meshuggah use 8's. Seriously, they could just tune down. They don't shred, have abnormally technical riffs or anything, so they really dont need 8's for repetitive power chords.
Man.. I would get an 8 but... Fuck i'm already devoting enough time to playing a 7 so... I don't want to be like Meshuggah and not know how to play one  .

Are you nuts? The quality of their Edge trems have gone to the fucking bottom! My RG770 trem owns the one on my newer RG2620! (i have a Tremol-NO on that one)
Also, they better not fucking use cheap licensed shit trems on the 8-strings or I will kill them.

I like Mo's guitar. The live shots looked bad. As long as you can have that awsome colour in those promo shots. I think I might look into one.
