WHO ELSE BESIDES ME THINKS I'M GAY?
I mean seriously, it sounded "cool" when your like 12, but having a heavy ass sound does'nt mean dropping to C or B or whatever...I guess if you suck and can only play with(or have) one finger it might be understanable... it's all about the almighty F chord!!!

I can think of a few other things that are much gayer, and you're doing them all right now.

I personally dont like going to drop C aswell, but I dont really see how only using one finger goes along with this, My action on the 6 string bass is like butter in standard, its like a wet dream in D standard, but once I get to c The strings are just too loose, and they hit the fingerboard more than Even i like it too, which is saying something. Because I hit the strings pretty damn hard.
Im gonna go with val on this one, I give your membership 3 days tops.

Yea thats almost exactly how I feel about my 6 string, the E is great in standard, better dropped to D but too floppy if its down to C. But its pointless anyways since I have a nice fat B string for those notes.

i like D standard and drop C. With dropped, you can do cool runs with the notes on the strings further apart... less movement for more tonal change. I almost never use bar chords, but if one will sound good i'll throw it in.
and drop tuning doesnt have a sexual preference. Kill yourself please?

no it does'nt but I was seeing if anybody else here plays in standard....
if you play in drop then don't reply...it seems that every other metal/hardcore band out there plays in drop....they are starting to sound all the same!
now go and kill yourself!

What the fuck is your problem, drop tunings are a tool for all musicians, not just you. So just don't use them if you don't like them, don't bash other players using methods you don't. It's that easy.

A person's tunning has no indication of their playing ability. Baring 2-3 strings is just as easy as the simple powerchord (and its the same thing anyways) so shut up. Changing finger positions isn't gay - for some playing it is much more effective. It just so happens that a lot of nu-metal bands have adapted the tunning but people like you some how make the connection that a terrible band ruins the tunning.
