what do you think of Ancient
it's the only black metal i like, i think its because these guys make actual riffs, instead of just chugging over a too-fast drum beat.

They're pretty fuckin good!
Some decent black metal would be: some Immortal(if it constitutes as BM anymore), Negator, Unholy Matrimony, a few b/dm bands. Not really anything like Ancient but they make good riffs as you said, they don't bust out uninspiring garbage like most black metal bands.

you should go for it man, it sounds kind of like 80's german thrash at times, but some of the slow stuff is kind of lame

thats what i thought about older gorgoroth, it reminded me of Pleasure to Kill Kreator, but then the horrible horrible vocals came it that sounded like a nauseated canine. is it anything like that?
