"Direct Out" on my Boss Delay DD-3

Has anyone ever used that thing? Is it the equivalent of a DI box or does it not balance the signal like a real DI does?

Best thing to do is go to the Boss site and check out the manual (if you don't have one). Seems the function of the direct out jack changes if the Normal output jack isn't used.
