November's Doom
im not much of a doom metal fan, but i must say these guys catch my ear. The older stuff i dont like so much but the newer stuff i like alot more. They are very melodic with alot of opeth chords, anyone heard of them, like or hate them?

I'm not much of a doom metal fan myself.....but i enjoy listening to a couple of their tunes.
I have one of their albums on mp3, it's not bad. I love "The Dar I Return" simply because of the piano bit at the start......that just sends chills down my spine and almost brings me to tears it's so beautiful. Then the band kicks in and i lose that emotion.....but whatever.
Try Within Tears....they're a very emotional doom metal band, and have kind of the same feel as November's Doom latest stuff (i think).

lol. Novmebers doom is a band id have to make a compelation of becuase they have great songs, and horrible songs. Try shadows of light. I love that song, ill be sure to check them out.

I've got one of their albums, and I think they are a great band. A lot of atmosphere and intensity...

NOVEMBERS DOOM!!!!
yeah they rule alright...Silent tomorrow is a great song, one of the better ones of that album in which the name eludes me at the moment...Doom metal in general is great...My Dying Bride, Within Tears, Saturnus...gold!

ive checked out November's Doom on mp3.com before and I really liek a lot of the stuff on there.. it's about time I go buy some good Doom cds...

besides october tide (especially their debut "rain without end") maybe you'd want to check out a band called daylight dies (they should be in mp3.com, and i'm sure kazaa also finds their mp3's). they make melodic yet depressive metal in the same vein as october tide. and if i'm not mistaken, one of their members is the webmaster of the official homepage of katatonia. can't compare them to november's doom though, i've just not yet heard this band...
