CKY
Not metal but does anyone listen?
Even though not metal, they pretty much influenced me into metal.
Awesome Band.
I wish they would infuse thier newer style with thier old Foreign Objects style.

they are probably my favorite band of all time. you will not find a bigger deron miller groupie than me. i can play probably every single one of his riffs, from every demo to every side project. if you havent heard it, get ready to crap yourself

I thought so too. What's the difference between cky and other indie pop whatever bands (other than Deron used to be a metalhead)? It seems like a lot of people like them.

The riff in 96 Quite Bitter Beings is just wow.
Any news if CKY is doing anything new?

Indie pop?
What the fuck...
They are popular because they mostly always use precise note riffing, not fast or anything, but like note by note riffs not like strumming chords and shit, and it's a new sorta sound for the kids that listen to them because they come from backgrounds of like Punk with just chords and like Korn and shit... If you get what I'm saying. As to why I like them, just cool sounding riffs and nice melodies.

well feel free to disagree, but what other band has riffs and vocals like cky? not to mention attention to detail
clutch has some pretty CKY sounding riffs (or vice versa, whatever)

Vocals? Heaps.
Riffs? I guess the riffs are fairly original. But as far as harmonies and shit, apporach, I've heard all that done before.

fifth harmonies arent that common outside of metal, particularly in the realm of "indie pop" or mainstream rock which is more appropriate. deron almost exclusively uses a fifth harmony when he writes. he says he takes all of his riffs from deaths spiritual healing album, and its pretty easy to hear that
