yep they posted it on their site a while back, different guitarist and bassist though. Santiago from aghora on guitar and chris kringle on bass, excluding the original three dudes.

Now if only Coroner reunited...
But yes, indeed, this is awesome news. My wish of seeing Celtic Frost live finally came true this year, so hopefully the same will happen with Cynic pretty soon.

...and I'm super pissed that they are one of MDF's headliners. Could have been better.

Fuck, this is great.
You fucking lucky American barstards, get sooo much good shit, the best bands piled up into a fucking show, you cunts don't even know it. Over here its some big mediocre bands which tour every so often so we get a show maybe once a month (if that), with Psycroptic yet again supporting. Last fucking show I went to was Disgorge for fucks sake! That was in March! I need my fucking hit.
Do you think they'll record new stuff...?
I kinda hope they don't... I mean, the old stuff is EPIC and I'm hoping this won't be your usual kind of sequel. There was a reason they split up.. artistic differneces... know what I'm saying. Also, Masvidal isn't in the band anymore right??? If they got a replacement??? Could be a no-no.
Hmm, I think i'd prefer them not to make new stuff. But if they did, then I would give it a fair listen, and if good, praise, and if bad, forget and still listen to Focus a few times a month. Definantly and surely my most listened to album.

I'd rather be in Europe for Obscene Extreme than the states for MDF.

I'm just shocked that they were able to reform so soon seeing as it took them like ten years to finally release a debut album

well they did have like 15 back catalogue songs before focus! it was basically an entirely different band in terms of music, so id cut em some slack
and hey, they did better than general surgery when it comes to recording

I too fear that they may record new stuff and fuck up Focus' legacy. But knowing how great musicians Masvidal and Reinert are, I think it would prove unlikely. I hope they are touring Britain.

Recording a bad CD won't ruin Focus.

C'mon I doubt they are going to do a shitty album, if anything it's going to be more progressive and/or jazzier than Focus due to the years of maturation plus some of them playing in Gordian Knot and all.
Problematic, sometimes a band's best output is made when all the members are struggling with artistic differences and fighting and stuff.. I can't give examples for metal at the top of my head [early Scorpions with Uli Roth?]
Hey Steve as for a Coroner reunion, I would drop everything and get over to wherever it was... shit they could be playing in Antarctica and I'd show up. Though I doubt it's gonna happen, Ron's busy with his own locksmith business, Tommy got his studio to run and Markey's doing techno... though I did talk to Martin Ain after the Celtic Frost show in October and he said he still talks to Markey sometimes and they know a reunion would be cool but right now 'it doesn't feel right.'
