Still noisy?

Greetings, citizens of Metaltabs!

Recently, I purchased a Schecter Blackjack 006 (SD pickups) in hopes of getting better tone and reducing the noise produced by the single-coil pickups of my first guitar. My tone definitely improved, yet the noise persists (although not as loudly as before). Being the noob I am, I am not sure if this amount of noise is normal, as I thought humbuckers almost totally eliminated it and I do not remember this happening in guitar stores. I took it upon myself to record the noise for your listening pleasure, conveniently placed inside the attatched zip file. The more gain I use, the less volume I have to use for the noise to occur. I can get it to occur on the clean channel at high volume.

The amp I use is a Peavey Bandit 112.

After reading up a bit, it sounds like it could be interference from other electronics. Is this true? I also hear a noisegate could clear this up. Is this true as well? Some clarification would really help me out. Thanks in advance for being nice to me in all my noob glory.

you probably didn't wire it correctly or the 2 wires you are suppose to hide...red and white away...here is an example http://www.seymourduncan.com/suppor...1vol_1tone.html

Except that they're the stock pickups. Looks like I get to learn to fix it!

Ill take a look. Thanks...

Edit: Now that you mention it, I can see wires down on the right hand side of the neck pickup. Is that what you meant? I see a white and I think orange, maybe red one poking out. I really dont know anything about this, haha.

maybe...they are the like noise canceling wires or something...maybe i'm making that up...all i know is they need to be isolated...what I did with mine was stuff them back up the hole that the main wire comes out of...since the wires inside that are insulated there shouldn't be a problem.

i don't know there are places to find generic schematics for guitars...they can help you identify what wires are what...buy since you said you had Seymour Duncans...i would check out the seymour duncan website and look up a proper schematic for your guitar.

Well my correct setup would be this

The only thing is I dont know a thing about changing pickups. I dont even know how to get them out of the guitar without hurting them. Sigh.

Ill probably rip the strings off and take a look at it tomorrow.

Edit: EHHH Crap. Or it could be this. Probably this?

Shows how much I know. BAH.

k... if its a grounding problem... then it should be REALLY noisy, and there should be a distinct popping sound when you touch the strings or any of the hardware (knobs and such) with your finger.
Other than that, its probably the peavey... they have a big creamy load of gain in them and are always guna be noisy. Dont expect an entry level combo to be silent on the distorted channel, even if you have humbuckers and a noisegate.

edit: added
Thats sounds to me like its just the peavey. Bring your setup to a room in your house far away from computers and stereos and turn off the lights and try playing... that might reduce noise.

Thanks for the suggestion, Im glad to hear its probably not a grounding deal, as there is no popping or anything. The bad part is im still going to be stuck in the same room for practice usually, where a lot of electronics are. Ill try playing in my garage later and see what happens, haha.

However, I DID notice on the Seymour Duncan website that there was a way to incorrectly wire the pickups so that their "humbucking qualities" would be negated. Is this a possibility, or is that the same as the grounding problem?

IF it is that problem, it is probably separate from grounding. Open up your guitar and take a look.

I just realized something thats bugging me... the amp was SILENT when running my old single coil guitar off 2 pickups at once. Shouldn't my new guitar be silent as well? >_>
