A new way to restring?
Ok I was looking through some photos and I say that a guitar with a Floyd Rose was strung backwards. Like it had the ball ends hanging from the headstock (like if you didn't cut the exess string when you restrung). So I am just curious how exactly would you do that? Like measuring the string so it doesn't slip and stuff?

No just cut the pieces off the end.
Or if you buy the Dean Markley strings like i do those strings have the pieces at the end and have some excess string. The excess string can be seen by the eye because on the last 4-6 strings its smaller. So you just cut that off and proceed as normal. On the 1-3 strings you cant see the access/i don't believe there is any.
Also it's not new. Sorry bro .

Damn the pieces on the end of the string are smaller than the ones i use. But just do what i said above or you can do like is in the pic if you find the right strings.
Edit:
Dude i do not see how in hell he got the end of that string through the eye hole of the tuning peg. Unless, tuning pegs can have bigger wholes. I doubt he actually went without using the eye whole, because from the looks of it he went through it.

I know I mean I think he put the string through the tunning peg first then pulled it under the locking nut and locked it into the bridge. Hense the ball ends by the headstock. What confuses me is how he gets the right amount of string around the peg. I have an idea but I am not sure it's right.

er...you just tighten the string & it winds around the peg. how hard is THAT to understand? i always string my guitar that way. strings usually have an uncoated end. you cut that off (with some portion of the coating ofcourse), you put the string in through the tuning peg, lock it at the bridge and just keep turning the knob. why is a 140+ IQ required for that?????

I string my floyd rose up similar to that, but i pull the string right through the peg, so the ball is right against it. Then i cut the string to the right length and lock it in the bridge, and it only takes a few turns to tighten up, i find it much much quicker than wrapping the the string round the peg.

I know that. I usually cut the ball end off and put that end at the bridge. So I just got confused when I saw that you could do it backwards.

you can do it either ways and this way id not 'new'. and this way you can re-use the string on a non-floyd guitar in case of an emergency...although thats not very probable :P
