Meshuggah Re-release of Nothing
So they re-recorded, re-mastered and re-released nothing. Also with a DVD
Has anyone heard it?

I have it...haven't really given it a good listen though, but I skimmed through and it doesen't sound TOO much different. I currently only have shitty headphones on me now, so I'll reserve judgement until I give it a good listen and get better headphones. I guess they changed the tempo for a few songs because both "Nebulous" and Obsidian" are noticeably longer now (7:06 and 8:33, respectivly).

I heard those two are much slower as well.
The biggest difference I want to hear is the guitar. I read an interview with Fred
and he said that the Nevborns they were using were proto-types and kept coming out of tune...so now they have the 30'' scaled ibanez's of doom. I suspect the sound to be MUCH larger.

I think I should get into this band. I've only heard "Rational Gaze" and liked it a fair bit.
I'm guessing this album is not a good place to start? Judging by the general response?..

I can't understand why they'd re-record an album that sounds just fine. Nothing is not something anyone'd get into on the first listen, but after a few spins it becomes Rembrandt.
