yes it will be a problem to getting a tone those band have.
cuz it doesnt have alot to do with the guitar, it has to do with the amp, if you dont have the same amps they have it will be realy hard to get near the tone they have.
actualy, itis impossible to get the exact same tone, cuz these bands probaly have equipment most peeple will never be able to buy anyway.

then you need to save yourself some money and buy a good amp too.
good guitar + good amp = good sound
good guitar + good amp + good player = excellent sound

Dont buy a good guitar unless you have an awesome amp.
Its like putting a 70's FIAT engine in a Ferrari

eh, i wouldnt put it that way. i would more so say, dont depend on an good guitar for awesome sounds if you dont have an awesome amp. Like, fuck yeah go buy an awesome guitar, but be ready for dissapointment if your amp is shit, because thats what it does, it AMPLIFIES your awesome guitar, and if you try and amp something with poop, well, your awesomeness will get covered in poop.

I just think the amp should be your first investment.
I mean if you are playing a Squire though a $500 tube amp, its going to sound better than $500 guitar playing through a 15watt peavey rage...
The guitar is the prettiest part of the equation, and where the sound comes from. Obviously getting a good tone starts at a quality guitar and quality pickups. But if you want that quality tone to stay quality as it is being amplified past the volume of an acoustic - you need an amp which is as or more quality than the guitar.
IMO.

No doubt that PRS is an excellent choice as far as a guitar goes. The best guitar I ever played in my life was a PRS with a green flamed maple top - it felt and played insane.
I'd say try getting your distortion from more of the amp rather than relying on pedals. [I'm not a big fan of distortion pedals.] This way you can put a cap on how much gain you're able to work with. That prevents you from turning what should be a killer tone from the PRS + Marshall combination [assumming it's a decent combo or half/full stack of some kind] into a hive of killer bees.

Not a huge fan of PRS guitars. I've tried them and they are good but not really for want. They are really good for rock. Are there any PRS guitars with a Floyd Rose on them?

An overdrive pedal is to imitate a tube amp's clean cranked up.
Get a tube amp anyway

I have a PRS Santana SE that's very similar to the one you're buying and it is a great versatile guitar. The neck is quite thick and wide (and according to the website, same as on SE Custom) so it's maybe not the fastest one in the universe, but if you're not seeking a guitar to do lots of shred stuff it should be fine.
But this is just my opinion, and i don't know shit. My advice would be to go to a shop and try it if it's possible.
