ZW44 Overdrive

I'm sorry for being a noob, but I'm considering buying this pedal (MXR ZW44)
and I'm wondering if it's decent or just sucks. I'm gonna use it for boosting mostly.

dou you just want to boost the gain?? if yes you could try a mxr microamp, its boosts the volume on a clean channel and it boosts the gain on a distorted channel with no eq changing (they say), dno if thats what your looking for though

i have a maxon od808 and i dig it alot. pretty cheap too, i don't think i paid more than $60 for a used one. does a good mild/light overdrive, works well as a clean boost with the balance all the way up and the drive all down, or if you want to add gain to your crunch or lead channel, you can turn up the drive.

i've used it to boost medium gain/one channel amps like my old soldano hotrod 50 & mig 100. i've used it to tighten up muddy amps like my old dual recto & framus cobra. and i'm currently using it with my vht pittbull hundred/cl over the clean channel for my "crunch" sound.

the zw44 is alot like the od808, but it has a bit more gain. thats the only real big difference i found.
