Peavey XXX: volume cuts down

I own a triple x, and I never had any problems until last night. My band was playing a venue that didn't have any PA or mic's, so I had to crank up my master volume at 7 o'clock just to hear myself playing. (the room was like a gym or something) Halfway through the set the volume cut down in half, and I saw the Ultra channel light had turned itself on (I use the Crunch channel only). I ran it w/ 2 cabs (8 ohm mono each)

I made it through the set, but I was afraid that the amp was fried. After the gig, I plugged everything back, and all seemed normal, the amp was loud, and sounded ok. I heard Triple X's are prone to blow resistors, especially if they're running on EL-34's, like mine.

Did anybody here ever encountered such a problem?

I had a problem with my peavey one night while playing. It began making everything sound muddy. Like the gain, reverb and everything was cut way down. However the volume stayed the same. It sounded so awful like the sound was completely muffled. Before this happened i had tuned my top string into Db. I was turning knobs from hell. Without luck i turned them all back. Then i was like fuck it i tuned the top string into E and went back to the original distortion i had it on. Hit a couple chords and everything turned back to normal. Tuned back down to Db and changed my distortion to the one i needed, and everything sounded correct. Till this day i cannot figure out WTF happened and it has never happened again.

I dont know if that helps man, i just thought i would share my strange experience with my Peavey also.

Peavey Studio Pro 112 Transtube Series.

that happened to me to but i found out it was the guitar cable and borrowed one and problem went away, actives on low battery also decrease volume and reduce crunch......but with the channel switch i dont know probably someone accidentally stepped on the footswitch or something
