"80's horror" metal

what are some songs that are from / relate to 80's horror movies?

like He's back by alice cooper
dream warriors by dokken
a.d.i. / horror of it all by anthrax (was in return of the living dead 2)
and all of the 45 grave songs fron the first ROTLD.

doesn't have to be heavy, just anything horror-tastic

I have seen that movie, it's pretty good. I didn't know Death was so underground...I thought maybe they stopped at "Evil Dead".

Anything from White Zombie, I believe. they always used sample movie quotes in their songs in some places.

Again, I don't know for sure.

Deicide-Dead By Dawn (based on Evil Dead)
Impetigo-I Work For The Streetcleaner (based on the film Nekromantik)
Impetigo-Wizard Of Gore
Impetigo-Cannibal Apocolypse
Impetigo-Breakfast At The Manchestor Moruge
Autopsy-Critical Madness (Based on the film Truth Or Dare)
Massacre-From Beyond (i'm pretty sure it's about The Beyond)
Laaz Rockt-Leatherface

And not sure but I think Dismember-Dreaming In Red is inspired by the Hellraiser film. I heard that somewhere but I don't know for sure.

Alice Cooper did a tune called Prince of Darkness from the 80's film of the same name.
Fastway did Trick or Treat from the woefully arse celluloid toilet fodder of a film of the same name starring Gene Simmons.
What was the name of the band who did tons of stuff for Dario Argento??
Slayer in Rivers Edge (not really a horror I guess)

alright thanks for the suggestions, im not really looking for plain heavy metal with horror lyrics, but something that sounds like it has a horror theme to it.

halloween by Helloween is another example

hell even Thriller. i just want cheesy metal that relates somehow to 80s horror.

Hmmm, not wanting to split hairs but... you called the thread '80's horror metal' then you say it doesn't have to be heavy, then you quote 'Thriller' and then you say 'I just want cheesy metal'????? Aaarggg do you want metal that sounds horror-esq. or do you want anything that sounds horror-esq!
You also listed songs that appear in horror films in your first post and then say that's not what you were after! Make your mind up

Hey I liked Trick Or Treat. But I like bad films. LOL

Oh and the band that did tons of Argento stuff was The Goblin. I have their best of. They are not really metal. They are like techno, jazz, rock.

On top of White Zombie and Mortician, who were already mentioned, Necrophagia's first album had at least some songs based on horror movies, if not all.

In that case, try the band "Zombi" from Relapse. It should be exactly what you're looking for.

That is, really, enough. Go slapfight by PM. And don't follow Skelator around trying to provoke a fight he's obviously not mature enough to ignore. Either of you continue bitching at one another in here now that I've said not to, and you can expect some time off.

In any case, name some horror filmesque metal bands/songs or post elsewhere.

I've heard Necrophagia, Mortician, and I believe you mentioned Iron Maiden which of course I've also heard. Necrophagia and Mortician are nothing special, in my opinion and I really only like one Iron Maiden song. I do like the Misfits but I wouldn't really consider them metal. And I've just never really liked Alice Cooper. My Dad likes him a lot though.

Oh. I just saw your second post. I have to agree, Dead by Dawn is a pretty good song but still nothing compared to Possessed. This is just my opinion though.
