Help, price and reliability

I need some advice about amps.

As I don't have alot of money and have small gigs coming up I need a cheap, reliable combo for warm rock to Metallica-ish metal.

I have been looking at Line 6 but just can't find myself to trust something that I could play Solitaire on for my music.

Tube or not, 2x12 or 1x12, Seperate EQ's... Whatever, just need something to cover my ass for about 6 months(with maintenance(sp?) in the minimum).

Any help greatly appreciated!

You live in Iceland, so I guess you are restricted with what you can buy? Get us a budget also, in monetry value.

if you want a cheaper option... a marshall MG will get those tones... just dont dime the gain.

Jesus, I was soo drunk when I started this thread yesterday...

But yeah, I can choose from Marshall, Mesa, Roland, Peavey, Fender and I think some Crate amps just landed here.

Price eh? Hmm, maybe down from $700.

EDIT:I have an MG15 and thats like plugging my guitar into a cow, just horrible. Though I haven't tried the 100...
