Basically I want something I can use to have lots of already recorded tracks playing at once as well as my live playing.

Ideally this would be something I could use live as well (i.e. play riff a, record and loop, play riff b, record and loop, etc...)

I've never looked into this sort of gear before... what's out there?

Do any of these types of devices have a decent drum-machine that comes with it?

I'd also need one with lots and lots of memory preferably.

In order to get what you want exactly as you put it, it sounds like you'd want to look into using a laptop live on stage with some kind of audio editing/sequencing program.

i have a line 6 dl4 i use for small loops. (14 seconds with half time ability, so if you run it in half time you actually get up to 28 seconds) it's pretty fun.

i also have a boss rc-20xl loop station for the bigger loops(up to 16 minutes).

so between the 2 alot can be acheived.

neither really give you much in the drum area so a drum machine might be wanted, though i suppose you could overdub some drums with the rc-20xl.

as mentioned above, a laptop/desktop(depending on how portable you want to be) with the right program may be the best option.
