I don't know a whole lot about guitars and amps.. i've owned a POS for six years and then decided to pick it up as a hobby so i can quit smoking.. i just bought a new EPI Les Paul and i have a Line 6 spider 212 (original not 2) i hate the sound of it .. i plug a single pedal into it and it gets horrible buzz... i basically run a zakk wylde style set up as far as pedals but can anyone recomend a decent amp with that i can hook up headphones to, i'm leaning more towards marshall combos ...( i live in an apartment with real stiff elderly neighbors) i appreciate any advice .. Go for a Roland Cube 30 if you have a situation like that. For practice combos, its tone in uncomparable, and it has headphone outs as well. Don't run pedals into a combo for Distortion either, just use the amps gain.

Thanks man appreciate the info ... now you say don't use pedals at all ? so i was running a the wylde overdrive that was probably a big no no

I would say just about most amps today the gain on the amp sounds decient enough to use instead of using pedals.

I'm not really to sure about the headphones thing. I've tried bizzilions of different things, like line out to my computer then to headphones.


Couldn't come up with a remotely OK even to practice with sound.

Well, its not a no if you're using it for solos or whatever, but if your amp has enough gain to get the sound you're looking for, then pass on it.
