I would just like to edit this, by switching Scream Bloody Gore, with tSoP. Thank you, and that is all

Question Best Death bassline?

So in your opinion(s), what Death song has the best bass track?

I voted Symbolic, but it's really hard to leave out any of them. I could easily have voted for Leprosy as well.

There's some good bass in Individual Thought Patterns.

I voted for Human a while back but now I wouldn't be able to choose between Leprosy and Spiritual Healing.

yeah, you're right. I love Leprosy, Human rox, Individual Thought Patterns has great songs with great basslines, but... Symbolic is still number one.

BTW - if you're talking about Spiritual Healing (the song)... I wonder did you realize that the riff used when there goes 'Practice what you preach...' was used by Mantas in 1983 in song Legion of Doom? That's interesting that Chuck allowed himself to use few years old riff, when he was starting to write more and more complicated music. Got what I mean?

Just checked it now and yeah, you're right. First time I've noticed it. That first Mantas demo is brilliant.

I just fully listened to Spiritual Healing; what a terribly underrated album that is.

I listened to that album so often my freshman year at college that I still remember most of the lyrics. Memorizing words to songs through repetition is one thing- memorizing lyrics to death metal songs is something else entirely.

I realize this thread is 3 months old, but I just came across it and....3 votes for Spiritual Healing? WTF? Altering the Future, Within the Mind, Spiritual Healing, Low Life are all great songs. The whole album is genius, through and through.

I'd say Leprosy

Scream Bloody Gore, Spiritual Healing and Human are close to me. Didn't really enjoy anything other than those.

Death was basically two different bands. You have their brutal era then you have their technical era.

Symbolic and TSOP are two of the greatest albums every written.

It's too hard to decide between ITP and Symbolic for me. I love how varied Deaths albums are. I love Human, but a lot of people seem to prefer the first half of the album better, I always prefered the second half of the album: Lack of comprehension(tech metal godness), see through dreams(great chorus and AMAZING middle harmony into solo), cosmic sea(awesome unique instrumental) and vacant planets(underated tech fest), anyone with me on that? The first 2 albums were early death metal classics, spiritual healing is my least fav but its still great, defensive personalities and the trade off solos in low life = awesomeness. Sound of perserverance was awesome but its just ITP and symbolic which do it for me the most personally. Oh, and I wish chuck released that control denied album under DEATH with his vocals, its like sound of perseverance part 2 musically.

Tie between Leprosy and Spiritual Healing. But since James Murphy is on Spiritual Healing and I really like what that song is about I voted for that.
