I love the tuba. I wanna get one not only because I want to learn how to play the basslines from various Cannibal Corpse songs ( ) but I'd like to find some sheet music from different composers of concert music. Now that's great music to play, I think. This one song (that I'm going to eventually write out an arangement for on power tab) called "Ride" by this one guy name Samuel L. Hazo (I think) has a cool tuba part to play. That and this one piece by Mozart I think called "Requiem." .... I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to some composers, but I enjoyed playing the tuba in high school.

I don't really consider myself TOO close minded but i find myself fairly closed minded in music. But i look for certain things in music, not neccesarily genres. Granted some genres generally have what i'm looking for. Certain kind of lyrics / mood / and additude.

It just happens punk and metal do it for me. Although i have heard some really good beethoven songs that have done it for me. Although i find that listening to classical for the most part to me is more reserved for background music. (in my mind) and i'm not a background music person at all.

I dont' even listen to music that much unless i really want to listen to it. Theres no way ever, that popular songs would ever appeal to me just because the majority of people don't look for what i look for in their music. (in my opinion)

Theres alot more to this that i could go on about, but i dont' think being closed minded is really that bad or big of a deal to be honest. There are different levels and i think probably each of us is probably partial more to thinking that is somebody ISN"T closed minded if they don't like pop/rap and so on. I think its almost trivial to even worry about it too much, because in the end its what the person is looking for, some just like to listen to new music. Hell right now i'm listening to a cd i've been listening to since i was in 9th grade. Saves the day - "Through being cool". damn fucking good cd btw.

I've found that because I have such a broad taste, I learn from every genre I listen to and can incorporate odd ideas into my music. I don't mind people with particular music tastes, it's their business, as long as their attitude is right. When people say "it's not my thing" rather than "ugh it's not metal it's shit you're shit you're not metal fuck off you have to like Slayer" I'm okay with them.

IMO, the postal service should be nearly flawless. I've ordered 80% of my cds online, and i count on that shit to follow through. god, not to mention the anticipation when im waiting for a cd, which takes long enough as it is. ive had a couple of people say my cds were sent back to them, then they go and think its my fault, like i have the wrong address posted on ebay or something . anyway, i cant stand postal fuck ups. not to mention that there are much more important things other people suffer losing in the mail than me and cds/music.

Hah, I know about that anticipation. I ordered 7 CDs this summer and they all have followed through on the earliest day they said it could come in. Then again, I live in a major city and the postal service is pretty good here. "the Politics of Ecstacy" should be arriving tomorrow....
