Which tubes should I buy?
One of these, for my Engl Fireball:
JJ: http://thetubestore.com/tesla6l6gc.html
ElectroHarmonix: http://thetubestore.com/ehx6l6gc.html
It has to be either of those, because I believe they will work fine with no biasing done to my amp. I was gonna buy Ruby tubes 6l6GC MSTRs but they ran out.
I hear JJ's work great in Engls, don't now about EH.
Could someone with experience describe their sound and suggest which is best?

Well I'll take that reply as: "I certainly don't know shit. "

i knwo quite some peeple put jj's in their engl, i had some jj powertubes (6l6) and some electroharmonics in my old engl savage top. but try find someone that knows alot about tubes (liek a amp tech or sumtin like that) and ask them, they might be able to tell you alot more about tonal options with tubes.

Nah I'm not buying from him, I thought it was the same store actually. :P I'd rather buy it through a regular webstore like thetubestore rather than make a call across the big pond.
I think I'm going with JJ's. Any objections?

so... if you retube with exactly the same tubes you dont have to mess around with the bias of the amp?

Well if it's exact same type, brand, model, etc. and they're matched, yeah with most amps no biasing is needed. Marshall suggests that they should always be biased regardless. Many other modern amps don't need biasing unless the tubes aren't matched, or are very different from your amp's current tubes.
I bought me some JJ's, I payed almost the same amount in shipping for them(I live in the Canary Islands), but considering how expensive tubes are here(plus aren't even made from well-known brands), I can't complain.

Did you have to bias your ENGL for the JJ's?

JJ's are great. I use them in my recto. I'm thinking of trying KT88's and EL34's sometime though. Also along with a combination of preamp tubes...

Hey man don't rectos have a fixed bias? I thought Mesa had tubes exclusively for use with their amps, did you mod your amp or something?
EL34's... You're going to be using one of those pin adaptors for it I assume?
