Should i go down to 9's ? and will i loose the heavyness and some of the tone? thanx

Nothing below 10. Prefferably 11's or 12's.

you can use 9's. Thinner strings give more of a crunchy sound

I used to use 9s and 10s but they felt too loose for me. So now I use 13-56 in standard tuning and of course anything detuned

I use 10 for standard. If you were in standard i could see using 9s. I never play standard though so i generally stick with 11s.

10's for E and D. 12s for anything lower.

get rid of the dadarios, dadarios are stiff strings, get some earnie ball 10's and feel the difference, although ernieballs only will last for 1 week until theyr bad, but you could try to find DR strings, they feel the same are ernie balls, but last alot longer.
but seriously, i think its just the dadario strings, ive hated those strings from the first time i played on them, their just stiff

i disagree. heavier strings tuned the same always sound heavier. thinner strings sound tinny and loose.
i play ernieball beefy slinkys. they're 11-54. in C# standard lately. but depending who im jamming with, it could be E standard to drop A.

I don't know. If I play with 12's in E standard it's this bassy sound. But if I pick a thinner gauge I have the feeling the thinner I go the more crunch I get. Could be just me though

it really depends on the player and the guitar alot of times. my parker fly deluxe never breaks strings. and since i don't have sweaty hands, they stay clean and sound good for months.

I use D'Addario XL Super Light 7 Strings (9, 11, 16, 24, 32, 42, 54), and for my 6 string guitars, i just use the same, but discard the 24. 7 string tuned to B standard, 6 strings in C# or C. I think the lighter gauge on the top strings is much more beneficial and comfortable, so i'd suggest getting a 'Skinny top heavy bottom' type pack

yeah ur right, i kinda overdid it a bit, its 2 weeks
btw i never breaks trings, well.. sometimes when i put new strings on my guitar theres a bad string that snaps rightaway, happends sumtimes
but (in my case) after 2 week playing earnie balls (i play almost everyday) the strings are not in proper tunign anymore. like al the frets after the 9th fret will be realy flat or sharp, and its not the intonation
but then again what yuo sayd, it depends on the player and sweaty hands etc, i must have acid sweat i guess cuz i know pepele that play 2 months with earnieballs without noticing a thing.. ofcuz their not as awesome as me

I use an 11-48 Ernie Ball Power Slinky set, with a Custom Gauge 60 on the bottom for my 7 strings, which I tune a wholetone down.

D'Addario: 49-11's("Blues" with no wound G string for Eb, 46-10 for E standard.)
Dean Markleys: 52-11's for D, 54-12's for C#
GHS: Lo Tune 56-12's for B and Drop A.

PHAT is right!
I recently had to buy some new packs of those 70's [GHS Zakk Wylde Lo Tune to be exact] from a new Guitar Center they just opened up in my town and the sales dude was like " how do you even play with those?"

Wow the largest i've ever played was i think a 56. I used to use the thick and thin ghs strings back in the day when i was in my punk band.
I actually wouldn't mind givinv them a shot again, or just a heavier string.
70s... damn son hah. Granted it is a 7 string
