Zao was one of the bands that got me into heavy music as well, so I respect them. They're not the greatest but they are pretty unique among the pool of repetative metalcore type stuff. I still give em a listen once in a while. Although... their new album is....meh, if you know what I mean. And all their music on the myspace is from their new album, and that first song that plays on the page is terrible incase thats all you guys looked at. Not that the others don't sound kinda weird either.
I also saw them live a few months ago for the heck of it. They were alright actually, it was fun

They opened for In Flames and Devildriver on their most recent tour. They uhh......sucked. A lot. When they scream they actually sound like young men screaming. Not like a wraith or a giant necro-beast, like more extreme metal vocalists sound like.
