death metal for starters?
basically just kinda wanted some suggestions for songs to goof around with that are relatively easy to pick up but yet some what of a challenge. Im kinda picking up on some stuff i though sounded easy like All Shall Perish - Laid To Rest, The Black Dahlia Murder - Closed Casket Requiem, and Aborted - The Lament Configuration ... i know their no Necrophagist or Cannibal Corpse but any suggestions would be awesome!

Even though they aren't too challenging I would say any Obituary/Six Feet Under songs if you like those bands. It is good practice for just staying in perfect time. Just a suggestion and not sure of your playing level. Either way, good luck.

Some Death stuff is relatively easy, and some isn't, so I guess they'd be perfect to 'push' you.

definitely, this is the best advice you can get. dont let anything hold you back man, just try everything.
obituary, death, pestilence, old DM like that is not only some of the best metal but some of the easiest
