Possible misunderstanding on my previous question, alt. picking
What I meant should I completely stop strictly downpicking ever and alt./economy/sweep pic all the time to develop lightning speed. Kinda like typing with two finger at first. If I understood the post to my thread, up and downstroke have a diff. sound and I should play accordingly?

Once you get better at alt picking, it'll feel completely natural, and it lets you pick way faster than just down, and uses less energy. So, even on a slower, down-pickable riff, if you alt pick you'll use less energy and be able to play longer.

Yeah but come on. Downpicking sounds a billion times better than alternate for slower stuff. My simple answer - downpick as much rhythm stuff as you can, everything else will be alternate, followed by economy/sweep picking.

Ok, thanks. I'll listen for the different sounds, but alt./ecom. from now on. It's kinda funny because up stroking starting to feel a little better then down. esp. if I hav been alt. exericsizing or something. is it just me?

depending on the feel you want to give to a certain riff you play alt or just downpicking, on some riffs it sounds alot more chunky and catchy to downpick all the notes.
just play the way that feels and sounds best for ya
