Where o where does my wah pedal go?

In the FX loop or before the amp? I've tried both. In front of the amp it's a noisy motherfucker, but in my FX loop it sounds smoother, but when I switch it on I get a significant gain boost, making my amp sound earbleedingly louder. Where should the wah go?

It's a Dunlop Crybaby Classic(with the Fasel pot) in case you're wondering.

dude... almost any pedal will make a high gain amp noisier... especially wahs... i'd say put it infront and gate it

I always put my wah in front.

Since we're on the topic of which pedals go where, where would a delay pedal sound best, in the loop or in front? and would it be better to be between the amp and wah or between the wah and my guitar?

the rules i go by:

all time based fx in the loop whenever possible. i.e. chorus/flange, reverb, delay, looping, ect...

stuff like wahs(filters), pitch shifters, gain pedals should go before the preamp.

in the end it's all what sounds best to you, that's just where they're ment to go.
