help me add on to my rack effects
ive decided to finish my rackmount setup and need the help of you nice people... haven't really been to this forum in a while been working on spending money to get my recording studio up and running...
so right now i have the behringer 31qxlr equalizer
i need to add these two things
-Noise Gate/Suppressor
-Distortion
i was going to go pedal and get the boss NS-2 and a metal zone but id rather be cool with rackmount lol
i get a lot of feedback from my eq right now and a shit load of background noise with my amps lead channel.
and with distortion i want something crunchy and fat! if it takes a couple of units to achieve my distortion that doesn't bother me just post which one will help most to get first.

If it's the amp's sound that you don't like, why not just replace it? What's in your rig anyway?
Oh yeah, an NS-2 is always a good investment. Or if you want a rack solution for noise, check out the ISP Decimators.

i have a b-52 100A and its just not crunchy enough i dunno yet though i was digging the sound i was getting with the eq on it... just mass amount of BADDDDDD feedback so ill probably either grab a rackmount noise suppressor or get the ns-2.

Honestly I would replace the amp first. If theres anything ive learned over the years its if you dont start out with good tone with your bare equipment, you'll probably never be happy in the end. Anything you add in some sort of rack or pedalboard is all spice. You cant rely on spice to get the tone you want. If you cook a shitty steak, you can try to cover it up with seasonings all you want but in the end you will always end up with a shitty steak.
Everything starts at the core with a good guitar and a good amp.

even if you replace the amp I still wouldn't get any kind of distortion pedal. Especially a Metal Zone

depends if it has a effects loop. or you could run it through the front end but it would sound like shit.

Nope doesnt have an effects loop, but i dont htink running it through the front end would suck that much. i mean that 10w practice amp is just a poweramp... isn't it???
Anyway i bought used the jmp-1 nowfor 500 dollars, all i need is a samson servo 300w (200 dollars new) and a marshall 1936 cab. the 1936 is probably gonna cost around 520 dollars new. im buying it new in cyprus, the freight from anywhere until here is gonna fuck me
