ORPHANAGE!!!! <- alot like TOT, but actualy use their guitars alot more
Lacuna Coil (although, a little more chick)

aegis is way better than VDTF, if they had stayed like that it would have been ok, but there new stuff is really good.

old theatre of tragedy got me into the growling vocals and heavier riffs. their self-titled debut and "velvet darkness they fear" were really great - melodic, heavy and atmospheric. "aegis" was good album, but for me (considering the previous albums" it was a little dissapointment. with their new style...its a matter of taste really, but i don't like it at all. this kind of music is just not for me, i guess. i can't understand, why they changed so radically (from doom-death influenced band into depche mode). so, just their old albums for me.
considering the bands with male - female singers, for exapmle try these:
tristania
the sins of thy beloved
within temptation
trail of tears
musically they fall into the same category as old theatre of tragedy

Old theatre is the best , now they got electronic and all. A rose for the dead is a great song but the cd sucks major cock since its all remixed.
Hail and Kill.
