What Guitar tuners do you recommend?
I've never had a tuner before and I'm wanting something that will make it super easy to play around with alternate tunings. Should I get a tuner with a digital or needle display? Also, specific tuner models you have used before would be helpful. Thanks.

analog (needle) tuners are a lot better imo, but the thing is you usually cant change tunings with them unless you get a fairly expensive one. I also use a digital tuner for alternate tunings, its a Seiko SAT500 chromatic tuner which you find in most guitar stores. Theres a bunch of different similar models. http://home.rica.net/tdm/SeikoTunerSat500.htm
I dont use external tuners anymore anyways, i tune with a song im playing along with (or with my own band) and adjust it slightly up or down if i need to by checking it on my fx board: built in tuner type thing that tells you what chord your playing and how close/far you are from the chord. Thats the only way to go...

Its also almost $200. A lot to spend for a tuner.

A Korg GA-30? Everyone and their grandmomma has one, it's what I have and I don't need anything else. You could go for a rack tuner if you're a pro but seriously, who goes to a show without tuning their guitar beforehand? :P More expensive rack tuners are super accurate though, perfect if you need to get intonation right.

Most would definately agree get the boss chromatic tuner. Its about one of hte better buys i've ever done years ago. It still kicks mega ass, its high quality. Customizeable to show you tunings different ways. But i generally just keep it on the chromatic mode. Its an absolute freaking must for recording. btw, getting the power adaptor is almost a must. I would never use batteries for this unless.. i'm out in the woods or something.

Which is why you should also buy a boss noisegate NS2 because it can be hooked up with a daisy chain to power all your pedals with the same adapter, apart from the fact that the NS2 also kicks unfathomable amounts of ass by cleaning up your sound.

Does it really? I thought about buying one for real.. but i just can't seem to buy it. Not to mention i REALLY.. holy shit REALLY need a reverb / delay for my amp considering it DOESN"T have it.
I truly play.. barebackin it with my set up. Guitar + cord + amp. Thats it. haha

I've got no reverb on my amp, nor a reverb unit/pedal, just my trusty Boss DD-3 for delay in leads. I think I seriously do need reverb myself too, but the Boss RV-2 is so ridiculously expensive...
The NS2 is a must have if you want to reduce any kind of hum or hissing from your guitars, you're not safe from humming even with EMG's.

DOn't get me wrong i love my set up.. Granted i'm HIGHLY considering trading my bvh300 for the 150.. I didn't even know they had that out.. But anyways. Yeah i know i'd be happier if i could have delay and reverb.. since i usually ALWAYS am running it on my other amp.. or recording with it.. and making rediculously awesome sounds.
