I just bought a dimarzio X2N

hi, i just bought an oldish looking dimarzio x2n second hand from ebay.

On the back of the pickup it says dimarzio x2n power plus. Is this the same as the x2ns that are available today brand new?

thanks

I'm quite sure my X2N didnt have that on the back, but I'm not sure. Try emailing DiMarzio about it if you want a better response.

i think i remember hearing somewhere that there are 2 types of x2ns, the x2n plus and the regular... but im not sure what the differences in them are... emailing dimarzio would be your best bet.

That's right. They are different. The X2NP+ from the 80's/70's came only in creme color, and has two air holes, like on the dimarzio Air Norton. It lets air seep in for some very different sounding harmonics. I believe that old one is also a lot less high gain than the modern X2N but I'm not sure.

You didn't buy the right one mate, sorry. But hell let me know how it sounds.

I bit lesser gain from a X2N wouldn't even be that bad, considering it has loads already
