I was requested by someone on tc to get an account to see her account stuff and hear her band. I had the account all of about 15 minutes. That's how long it took me get and delete the account. I got a lovely message saying I could never ever have another account there. Big whoppie.
I go there when someone has music posted there and they want me to hear it, but other than that I talk to friends on an IM or by forum pm's. My best friend next door and I are emailing or IM-ing each other quite frequently. Usually saying to call one or the other. hehe

I tried to register so I could post some comments on some bands pages and rip the piss outa my friends band, but something went a little tits up with the process and I can't log on even though its the correct user name and password. Now it tells me there's been multiple incorrect attempts to log in blah blah!

I think myspace is really overhyped with all its masses of pointless blogs. I may be one of the few Americans with a computer that doesnt have and refuses to get an account on it, cause it just seems like a popularity contest on a global scale to me.I must say however, it is a godsend for bands that wanna get their music out there and i have some respect for it in that regard.

myspace music is cool, id like to see a better,more comprehensive clone with added features gain as much popularity so the vast majority of retards cannot participate.
something like a myspace for musicians,promoters and bands to network, without the FBI,sick stalker sex offender following and the teeny boppers who clog that shit up.

Friends have posted music on acidplanet or soundclick and those seem to be pretty cool sites.
Driving to work just before 6 am they used to play the number one internet radio band and talk a little bit about them. I know they never mentioned myspace because I'd have remembered that, but they did get the songs off the net. You guys might investigate that. I think they were worldwide, too. That would be a good way to get a foothold in the industry.

My band has one, but I don't/wouldn't have an account for reasons other than music. The fact that musicians can put up a site with music, information, pictures, and messaging capabilities in a matter of minutes that can be exposed to millions of people is fucking awesome. You don't even need an official site anymore.

Our band has a myspace. 4 songs, but 3 of them are all one song but had to be divided up into 3 parts, and the first one was recorded with a "Hey you, Pikachu" microphone.
I made my own little myspace just for the hell of it, and I hadn't used it until recently when I got into contact with some old friends of mine who I haven't talked to in years because they live up in minnesota.... and I lost their number.

I like it. use it for friends. most, i know in person. some, i dont. and of coarse the most obvious, its good for bands. people who hate it are either looking at it the wrong way (contest? how the fuck is talking to your friends a contest...) or they just dont know shit about it and are judging it too quick. think its crawling with goths, punks, emofags, freaks, and perverts? it is, but guess what, there arnt any of them to be found in my friends list. at least not your cliche type. i know like one chick who might pass as a goth.
the only friend requests i get are from
1. bands. which i dont mind. if i like them, i add them.
2. people in my area. same rule applies.
3. people in other areas. if they like the metal i do, then we have something to talk about.
4. bots. fake profiles with a pic of some babe. hate that shit. simple solution. click "deny friend request".

I thought it was rather amusing that on Dr. Phil yesterday a teacher was pressing felony charges against a student and his parents for setting up an account posing as her. It was all a joke, but she's seeking dollar damage. I didn't hear the details on what was said on the site (I was fixing chili), but she said she'd live in fear. They busted 2 kids involved, but could only try to charge one. She said she thought there was more than just 2 kids involved. It sounds like a crock to me. I mean felony charges that will follow the kid for the rest of his life? It sounds pretty crazy to me if it wasn't something life threatening.
