well i was being sarcastic in that last post...was gonna take pics of everyone...BUT i think thanks to fear factory and their being somewhat famous...they had some deal with the club that no "professional photography" was allowed inside. so they said i couldn't take my camera in...i said its just a personal camera and i always bring it in this place...the guy says well its a specific instruction for this show..follow me (to go ask a higher up) and she shot it down. so we (basstendencies and i) walk back to my car across the street and put it back and get back inside to watch decapitated play their last song. then we saw hypocrisy and suffocation and then we left. it was a pretty badass show....lots of fucking people there too. possibly the most crowded i've ever seen this place. so i was only able to take some pics with my cell phone...and they really really blow..so i don't think i'll even bother posting them.

on a lighter not...some drunk ass mexican guy was standing facing the wall next to steve where he could just see him in the corner of his eye. he turns and the guy is pissing right there on the wall!! steve says what the fuck are you doing!? and the guy slurs..sorry man i'm drunk and the bathrooms way over there..or something like that. then he stumbles off and these two little girls and their emo boyfriend come up and lean on the wall where the guy pissed. so steve leans over to tell one of the girls and she can't hear him but isn't sure what hes saying so sends the boyfriend with poofy hair over to see whats up.

yeah we only saw "spheres of madness" thanks in part to the asshole security and their precious headlining act, who by the way no could give a rats ass about (i didnt even know they were playing until brian told me). i have to say i wouldve made the trip just to watch their last song, they are some talented fuckers (i was psyched to see their original bassist martin was playing with them as well). suffocation of course destroyed. now i gotta kill about a month until the necrophagist/cannibal corpse/dying fetus show in december, i just hope we dont find out disturbed is headlining at the last minute, heh.

all i heard from decapitated was "spheres of madness", but i do like the negation very much as well. suffocation played two new songs i havent heard yet, and a mix of classics as well; breeding the spawn, and pierced from within(one of my personal favorites) were two that stuck out. they are extremely tight and very talented musicians. very impressive live, its the first time ive seen them. minus fear factory this tour wouldve been perfect. smaller crowd and lower ticket prices...suffocation should be headlining.

haha thank god i was standing on the other side of steve. yea, we only got to see their last song. we'd have seen at least 2 or 3 more if they'd have let me in with my camera! luckily for me though, decapitated was just here a couple months ago (i posted pics from that show somewhere around here) and according to some dumbass kid at the show, they played the exact same set as they did last time.

its very possible, some of them were tough to identify cause, well youve heard their songs, heh.

yeah some kid was ragging on decapitated hard. its funny to me cause even if you dont like them you have to admit theyre fantastic players. shit theyre classically trained. that was pretty lame of them to make brian lose the camera, like there is some conspiracy to take photos of death metal bands to make big cash.

I was at the tampa show, was fucking badass. Left before Fear Factory (fuck that). I was a bit pissed nobody was around for Decapitated, well the crowd wasnt that big, I walked in during Three Dimensional Defect which is badass. The guitars were a little bit sloppy, but oh well! Suffocation were fucking nuts, I was in the pit the whole time practicaly, got the shit beat out of me, it was fucking great. Terrances guitar sounded badass, think it was a Peavey XXX, it was sweet.

i havent heard much hypocrisy, and i have to say i wont be converted by their live show. i love pete in bloodbath, but i was thoroughly bored watching them play. i assume its because i havent heard much of their stuff and wasnt really getting what theyre going for. what would you recommend by the band?

Hmm, thanks kind of hard..there first two albums are more "old school death metal"..and then they kinda branched out into Melodic Death metal. Although "The Virus", there newest album from 2005, probably wouldn't really classify them as melodic death.

I own 6 albums, they have a few more...the albums I would more recommend out of them would be..

Virus
The Arrival
Self Titled
Abducted(don't own it yet)
The Fourth Dimension

it seemed like their stuff would be more enjoyable recorded, to get the full effect. one of the things that killed the live show for me was their bassist, who at times barely seemed compitent ( from his style i assume hes a converted guitarist). they had a tough spot in between decapitated and suffocation too. thanks for the suggestions guys, i'll give them a shot.

hah yea i noticed that too. was thinking..thats how it looks like when i play bass. probably the only bassist there using a pick. other than that, there was only one song where it looked like he was doing much more than hiting root notes. i think it was the last song or the one before and i noticed his fingers moving around a bit more on the frets.
