Are you serious? Hatebreed is good if you like redundant jock rock bullshit. Same with Throwdown.
What do you mean by hardcore, because the definition of hardcore has been so blurred in recent years that its kind of hard to decipher. I know a lot of the hardcore purists (I doubt there are many, if any on this forum) would throw a pissfit, but Most Precious Blood has been one of my favorite bands for a long while now. Their older stuff ala, Nothing In Vain sounded more along the lines of traditional hardcore. Evergreen Terrace is more the new school of hardcore, they are also very good. There's a band that I got into around three years ago call The Fall of Troy. Those three dudes are in-fucking-sane. I guess people have been calling them post hardcore? Whatever it is. I think you might be into them.
"Traditional" Hardcore bands: Sick of It All, Gorilla Biscuits, The Cocks.

80's hardcore is good.
But then as with most sub-genre's of punk it turned into a fashion club.
Not to mention that 90% of Hardcore bands are Straight edge and 90% of edgers are fggts

sick of it all, no, but they are deffinately one of the most influencial nyc hardcore bands ever
but i cant deny listening to them alot in my youth
they had an imfamous beef with born against years ago. there is actually a born against song where the singer of sick of it all called and left threats on an answering machine message, its pretty funny
i can post the song up if anyone wants to hear it

what? and somehow metal itself didnt turn into full blown costumed culture?
the straight edge scene definately turned hardcore into a left wing whinefest, ill give you that. i usually agree with most of the politics to some extent just not when its paraded around as the second comming of christ. after awhile hardcore turned into a religion that was paper thin at best.

it was always hardcore/punk as far as i know, it was distinct from the UK 77 style punk and the new wave genres for its time in the early 80s. after a while the punk part was dropped as hardcore became its own scene seperate from the punk scene. both styles arent very different and stagnated straight into nostalgia anyways.
hardcore slowly co-opted a metal style, even the discharge worship crustcore<a subgroup of hardcore>scene started crossing over into death metal/grindcore turf, like around the late 80s.
i always dug on bands like HHIG,assuck, dregs,MITB,dystopia etc moreso than the chugga-chugga stuff like biohazard and earth crisis,a billion more bands i cant name because i hate the music foremost.
the metalcore stuff is very recent and is essentially metal with different emphisis, if the presence of mere breakdowns and a higher register of screaming now constitutes a group of music needing to be called something different than that really tells volumes on the whole genres dynamic range.
nowadays everything is hardcore because of dipshit kids who cant be bothered to research the history, mckay,HR and rollins are as old as most kids parents and the music they play is for old people. also this kind of music isnt even discussed like jazz or fusion/prog rock is, people actually care who was behind certian changes in the styles and who pioneered this or that kind of sound with those genres.
really indepth conversations on the the evolution simply do not exist. even with metal its kinda like wish washy. i dont even want get into the grindcore.

move the fuck out of the suburbs and pull your head from your ass. every major city that has a music scene, the hardcore and metal crowd are side by side, share venues and sometimes even bills, sometimes even bands and households. when it come to the punk scene, hardcore scene, avante garde and metal scenes etc. underground music. in any city, nyc,la,boston, philly,sf etc MOST OF THESE FUCKING PEOPLE KNOW EACH OTHER, ALOT ARE FRIENDS. this is the reason why those style of music overall is similiar no? think about it.
both styles evolved due to interaction, they didnt come from isolated vaccums. the entire style metal drumming evolved from is singlehandly taken from early hardcore. think of metal without blastbeats and thrash beats because that was hardcores legacy. and the hardcore i like most pre-motherfucking-date metal on this count.
it would do well just to judge a band on thier merits also. some of you fucking people need to get outta this us vs them attitude

Because jazz, fusion, and prog are listened to mostly by men and women done with their mid-20s, people that don't fall into, "Genres change! Shut up!" when challenged with something. And everyone's so caught up in this scene or that scene that they refuse to admit Job for a Cowboy is a death metal band or so-called "hardcore" groups are playing dumbed down crossover and thrash metal. But back on topic...

Really? 90% of them are "fggts." Was this some type of scientific test you did? May I see your data?
You have a lot of ignorance to throw away.
