Randall RH100 settings help please...

Gear:
Randall RH100 head
4X12 Randall cab

Ibanez RGT42 Guitar

BOSS OD-3 Overdrive
Ibanez Weeping Demon Wah

Im looking for a more Trivium, or Arch Enemy esk sound, basically I want to add more power to it. I was thinking of putting EMG's in my ibanez, but then what? any suggestions on equipment, or even just amp settings that would help, would be much appreciated.

Those sounds (especially Triviums) are so produced that you may aswell give up trying to sound like them. Besides, their tone isnt that great anyway.

well basicaly i just feel the sound is weak, and just want to pump it up a bunch, heavier and more distorted. even to the death metal level if possible.

Well the RH100 is a pretty cheap head, you may want to upgrade that first. I think a Peavey 5150/6505 would suit you perfectly for the kind of sounds you are looking for.

I got a RH200SC head which is basically the same but 200 watts and has stereo chorus. I have my settings like this:
Bass-8 Mid-maxed Treb-8 contour-3-5(still experimenting) gain-3/4 of the way
I use a Washburn X20, which I got in a starter pack, but i had a tech put in a Dimarzio X2N and it sounds awesome. I dont use many effects, just a wah sometimes. I am eventually lookng into a Boss NS2 and possible a DD-3 or DD-6.
Those settings are good enough for me, but if you dont think its loud or heavy enough use your Boss overdrive as a boost pedal.

i had the rh100. cool, but not exactly "big" sounding.

pump your mids a bit. cut the treble a bit, and dont use the contour much...

Yeah, why not. Try them out. see how you like them. Worst case you can just swap out the EMGs for another brand.

I'd go for an 81/60 set so your clean isn't completely fucked. other than that, if you can't get enough balls set up your overdrive as such. Tone:5 Level:10 Gain:0 that should get some more teabaggage out of it.
