I've played it, the tone is nice, distortion is a tad gritty. For the price of around 1000USD, there are a couple better heads, like the Randall T2 400 or even the peavy XXL. imo at least
But what music did you want to play?

i watched a video reviewing it and it sounded somewhat like a Hiwatt custom... reallly fizzy... kinda like ac/dc. But hey, the guy demoing it was a retard and kept playing country riffs... same guy played a country riff on a krank revolution... find one, try it out, and tell me if it sounds as good as it looks hahahha.

I don't know how those bands qualify as "European metal" but w/e, I always associate European metal with BM bands, Gothenburg bands, non-gay Swedish DM bands and Vader.

You can nab an ENGL Fireball for 1200$ new, or go for a Thunder for like 800$ but they're 60 and 50W heads respectively. You're never ever going to dime them for any gig you're going to play soon so who gives a fuck.

For much less get a 6505/5150(if you want your basic metalcore sound), XXL, or Tech 21 TM-300 SS head which will probably shit all over the Thermion.

Fuck, now that I remember, my local store has a Thermion and a Toneblaster, both Ibanez heads. Maybe I'll try the Thermion next time I stroll by.

for some reason the thermion does not tickle my fancy... i mean its not a bad amp persay but its not for me... the tone blasters crunch channel is really good a low levels but increasing the volume totaly fucks the sound... the clean channel is pretty sick though... dont get it for the crunch get it for the clean its disgustingly nice... depends ony oru guitar setup also

Yeah except its not an Engl Powerball its a Engl special edition head which is like fucking almost $4,000 US. But the tone is worth every penny if you were just going to use it for studio!

you do realize that this is a really old thread and things have changed since then. He used to play a powerball.

Oh, and to the person who resurrected this thread, the original poster probably doesnt even go on this site anymore so i think you wasted your time.
