Well i need to get a half stack soon, to pick up my presence a bit at gigs. I play death/black/metal. I dont have tons of cash to blow, looking for 500-700 dolar range. I have looked at a few online but im not sure what would be best, any ideas? (Built in effects arent a must for me necessarily, i do use a multi-effect pedal.)

Of those amps, the crates are the better ones.
but for your price range, you might as well go used so you can atleast get something of quality.
Go check out some local music stores. ebay or something
I personally suggest the Crate blue voodoo. its tube and has plenty of gain.
goes real cheap used. i got my head for $299

yeah try for a BV head with maybe an avatar cab. that or a peavey ultra head with an avatar cab. try ebay and harmonycentral.

The Laney AOR Pro Tube 60 or 100 are very nice amps as well. They go on ebay in the $300-450 range or thereabouts.

I've been dying for one of those Laney's.

Peavey 5150/6505 combo or XXL combo if you want an SS.
Blue Voodoo stack, can be had for that much.
Crate GT3500 SS stack.

But if you want a more original sound, try an Engl E530, a good tube poweramp and a good 4x12. All this can be had for around that much. But if you have the cash pony up for a Fireball stack.
