A little help with amps
I am planning to spend some more money on my equipment. Thinking of getting more powerful amp. Right now i have a Marshall MG30 (DFX)...
What do you guys suggest... Shuold i go for a halfstack...
Also how does Mesa Boogie mark IV sound (i'll have to save up for it some more)
I am not planning to use a lot of effects...Maybe only the built in disto.
And can i use my current amp (marshall in conjugation with another marshall amp to form a half stack)
I play thrash mostly

Im sorry, I just had to quote this, funniest typo ever! (Conjunction btw).
A Mesa Mark IV would suit thrash fine, although there are better amps out there. Bang for the buck wise I would go with a Peavey XXX or 5150, But if you want to spend the money for a Mark IV, you may aswell save up a little more and get an ENGL.

you could always pick up a used JCM 800 or 900 and a tube screamer, get that old school thrash sound.

I wouldnt, that little speaker in the MG30DFX probably dosent handle much power, plus it probably wouldnt sound that great either. I would just save up enough to get whatever head you want to get and a cab at the same time. And especially since money seems to be an issue, I would HIGHLY recommend going to www.avatarspeakers.com and getting a cab from there. For a little more than half the price of nicer cabs, you can get one from them that will be even better.
