There's all the information about guitar. Find it in a store and try it out, you'll find the advantages and disadvantages for yourself.

Dude, I have the Mick 7, Signature series warlock. Its the sweetest guitar under 2 grand. with the stock EMG HZ's, it sounds a little mushy. but with the EMG 81 i put in it the thing screams. I use 11-49 Elixer's, a DOD death metal distortion pedal, and an ancient decca tube amp.
DUDE, Go for the BC RICH!
now if i only had 3500 bucks for the Kerry King Signature series V.
YOU ALL SUCK

BC Rich guitars are loved because they look great. In reality, most of the cheaper BC Rich's suck ass. The more expensive one's are fine, but the fact of the matter is you can get just as much out of a $300 Ibanez as you could out of a $500 BC Rich. The best BC Rich's are definitely the neck-throughs, so if you are going to get one at all, get one of those. For the record, IronBirds have a badass look. That's about all I can say for it.

sorry to off topic... but chris, how did you manage to tab those early suffo songs? ive been listening to effigy alot lately and i cant make out most of the riffs note for note, but i can hum them. do you slow em down or something?

I DO have software that slows it down, but I haven't used it in a while because it sucks. It's not so much that it sucks as it is that it doesn't help as much as you'd think. Basically it makes muddy riffs sound muddier, and it doesn't slow down the music that much either. I'm sure there's better software, but I don't really care. The software I have is very small, it attaches itself to Winamp (on the left side), and it only slows the song down by 30%. Basically there's no real advantage to using it, so I don't. At least I haven't lately.
For the record, it's extremely difficult to make out any Suffocation song note for note, and the stuff off of Effigy is really hard, but the stuff off of Breeding the Spawn is harder because the production is far worse. Not only is all the heaviness missing, but often times, halfway through the song it starts to drown in mids that make it hard to hear all the notes. That album had too many brilliant riffs, figures, and basslines to be treated in such a way. It's even worse because Suffo never play the songs off of that album live.
Sorry to get off topic.

Actually it's the other way around Platinum has the Floyd Rose, the NJ has a fixed bridge. But your right about the wood and the humbuckers being different between the two. The NJ series would run about $259-299 new. The Platnum is $699-799 new.(depends on where you get it)
Play one for yourself to find out about the ups and downs, cause what I like about it...you may not like.
And one more thing, aren't you about that age where you should start doing things on your own rather than asking someone to do it for you?

Dont you mean the platinums are 200-300$ and the NJs are 600-700$?
Cuz last I checked thats how it went.

Yeah I was a bit confused what I said before was wrong.
What I should have said is, the Platinum Pro Ironbird is the $699.99, and that is the one with Floyd Rose, and the better wood and pick-ups.
But the Platinum Ironbird is $559.99 (fixed bridge)
And the NJ seires has the new Floyd Rose speedloader, and those are like $899.99 and up.
But there are three different NJ series, one is the signature line, and the other are 'classics'. and these are the same prices as the NJ with the exception of Mick signature which is cheaper.

I've had a look on the BC Rich website and apparently there are no guitar series with neck-thru...bar the classics and sigs (possibly, not too sure)...thats put me rite off getting one...although i owuld love an Ironbird...try Ran guitars, see what they've got!

You can get a B.C. Rich that's just as good for about the same price without the shipping charges and wait time.

Why yes, but I wear huggies.
Ran guitars are 100% custom made to YOUR specifications. Not some premade factory bullshit with a Floyd when you really know you want a KAHLER.

Myself, I hate B.C. Rich guitars. Weights too much, fucks up straps easily. There is a few I can stand though, I have consider buying a Mockingbird bass. Ironbirds are okay. John from Dying Fetus and Erik from Hate Eternal play Ironbirds.
Another reason I dislike B.C. Rich is because idiots like the Warlock and the Beast because it looks "awesome". What a guitar sounds like is more important than what a guitar looks like.

Nice move on the huggies.
Instead of being ignorant I went and checked the diff between Ran & Rich's and I was definatly wrong a custom Ran would cost as much a factory B.C. Rich. I feel way to admit this but hey I was wrong.
B.C. Rich's DO look sick as fuck, if you really want one then get one.
What I'm trying to say is who gives a shit what kind of guitar you have or how it looks if you can't play it then it's useless.

Thats harsh to Squire, and a custom B.C. Rich is probably pretty damn expensive, but would be nice.

if you want an ironbird , go for it. I'd suggest the nj, with the speedloader. I've always wanted one but i've never ever seen one in england other than the crappy platinums with the shit fixed bridges.

I've played the nicer model and they sound great but I am just anti-warlock. I'd rather play one of their sicker looking models.

Just a quick question, does anyone think the speedloader technology will be widely used or do you think it will be exclusively BC Rich, more importantly do you think it will sell well enough to even be considered for wider use.

well i dunno really, i ve never played one so i wouldnt know whether it'd stay in tune etc, but it sounds really simplistic to use and so maybe it'll sell. But it doesnt seem that way as no string making companies eg ernie ball, have decided to make strings for it.

Give it a year or two.
Once more string manufacters start making the speedloader strings then the trem will become more popular. You can swap out a regular floyd for a speedloader with no porblems at all, which is a good thing.

When I was looking for a new real floyd for my washburn, I considered the speed loader but It would have looked weird with no strings at the top with the tuning things.
