so i was in a record store when i see this band called Christian Death. their album was called "pornographic messiah". the cover showed a dummy on a cross. it looked like it was made from cardboard and hay. it was really retarded.

i immediatly thought this was another gay ass band trying to sell their records off of a satantic theme. especially with all the songs seeming to have the generic satanic theme. like "the lies behind the truth" (gay). i think about half of the song titles had the word "deception" or "lies" in it.

i almost bought the album because it looked so retarded. i immediatly thought this had to be the most retarded satanic band ever........even worse than deicide.

when i got home i decided to look up info on them. as it turns out, they have been around for a REALLY long time. almost early enough to be the first "Real" satanic band (yes i know black sabbath came first but im refering to bands that are nothing but anti christian stuff etc.). anyway, CD formed in 1979 and their first album came in 1982. i havent bothered to check for any mp3s.

anyway, they still seem very gay and retarded, just not as bad as deicide.

my guess would be that in sabbath, he was young and was just writin' different shit. People thought it was cool, and he did too.
But in down to earth, ozzy's lookin back on his life and pointing out things he may not agree with now that he's older and wiser. He states he's not the ironman, because many of his fans view ozzy as some kind of "god", and he's just saying "listen i'm just an old dude, who sings". That song is just reflecting some of his thoughts on his life, in my opinion anyway.

I seem to have spoken too soon (as i did about ...And Oceans)

So I finally get around to getting some CD mp3s and I was pretty blown away. Its so weird, the name and lyrics would make you think they were death or black metal, but they are very original. The songs I got all have an Anathema/Katatonia type guitar with all clean vocals and really cool keyboards. I got this song called Romeo's Distress and I can't stop listening to it. It sounds like some type of late 70's or early 80's punk rocker song. I did not expect that at all. Their name and lyrical content obviously have prevented them from mainstream success. These guys really kick ass.

I know that they have had some style changes over the years. When Rozz Williams commited suicide and Valor took over, he took it in a new direction. I am not sure which albums have Rozz and which don't, but I'll probably end up buying as many CD albums as I can afford (there are 20 full albums!!!!)

Well, a few of my Christian Death cds arrived and I am kinda disappointed.

The songs are nothing like the mp3s I had downloaded like "Romeo's Distress" and "Spiritual Cramp"

These songs are really, REALLY slow. The drumming seems to rarely hit a steady beat. Its more like sporadic tom hits. Nothing all too catchy either.

I should get all the cds that had the most popular line up of Rozz and Valor working together. Those were supposed to be the best.

I just bought the CD album "Atrocities" and it fucking rules. It is a Valor album, but is better than many of the Rozz albums I have heard. This is the metal side of CD.

"Only Theatre of Pain" is on the way. It may be the best.
