Ibanez RG570 Body Situation
Okay, this may be a little weird but I know I'll get some ideas here.
Basically, I have an Ibanez RG570 that originally came in Purple Pearl color many years ago. Around 2000 I set on a project to cover the entire guitar body in electric tape. Looked fucking cool then, still does, and it gave a 'faux custom' look by covering up the damn middle single coil pickup and tone knob I took out. After that I sharpened the horns and cut out the armrest to be at a sharper, flatter angle [I went through a BC Rich phase.]. The thing is, the electric tape is really starting to piss me off, having to 'patch up' spots every few days, and I want to do something new. I hate that purple pearl color and I know the wood is showing where I made the cuts, I didn't paint it over or anything. Also, when my pitbull was a puppy she had her way with the right horn [the one the strap does not go on] and I know when I take the tape off I'm gonna see major chew marks and wood splittage/blisters.
I doubt there is there a way to order bodies, etc. from Ibanez, after all they have no custom shop. I'd really love to just settle the score and get a fresh RG body but without the single-coil pickup hole or tone knob, hell anything as long as the screws match a Wizard neck. Then I just have to worry about painting the damn thing.
Again, I'm not asking for an ultimate solution, just some ideas about what the hell to do with this body without having to dismantle the entire guitar.

there is a way to order ibanez parts. tough i think u hafto order through an oficial ibanez dealer (i tryd to order a edge pro trem once), i know they sell necks, but i dno if they sell bodies.
u could put a top onit, that will cover the pickup hole and the tone knob hole.
some tops come in a 1.5 mm thickness, so the guitar wont be alot thicker than it was before, you just have to sand the whole thing, and paint of after putting the top on.
just a suggestion

Wow, fucking comedy, I just checked the link you have awesomely provided and they sell almost every damn part except for the bodies. It's also hard to navigate around that place, talk about a bad case of Engrish, jeez.
If I would have known I had to order even the stupidest little locking nut screw from an 'official Ibanez dealer' years ago I would have stuck to Jackson. This is retarted. Ibanez is the goddamn Dell of guitars.
About the top thing, sounds cool, I never even knew that could be done. However, it requires taking the whole guitar apart, something I'm not inclined because I'm too lazy to do and not enough money to take it to a tech [shit, would I ever.]
I should just get a Jackson Kelly and that would end it all.
My options have grown, at least.

Yeah, the thin tops are known as 'laminates' really, purely cosmetic as there isn't enough wood to alter the tone of the body.
As they are thin, they should be reasonably cheap. It's a good suggestion.

Im pretty sure Warmoth can make custom bodies, it would probably cost a bit though.

YES, do that.
You might want to try sanding the paint off first, and attempt to repaint it. There is a thread about painting your guitar, and you can get it looking real good if you do it right.
But just get a 570 body from Ebay, they sell a ton of them.

Seems like Ebay or Warmoth is the way to go then, depending whether or not I want a regular RG body or something fancier. Thanks guys.
And yes, I have realized by now I will have to dismantle the whole guitar.
EDIT: Dissection, that sig is hilarious. Ibanez = love, HAH

Wow cutting in your body to make it "BC Richey" is just way fucking stupid. Buy one from the start.
