Good starter bass amp?

One of my friends is considering starting bass, and we want to form a band together with my other friend who is supposed to be getting drums soon. What would be a good, cheap bass amp that would be loud enough to play with a drummer? Keep in mind it'd playing along be with a crappy starter drum kit. Also, would my 30w amp be loud enough?

I reckon your 30w should be good. I have played in extremely loud conditions, with a 12w BC Rich starter amp, and it was not loud enough.

However, since your friend will be getting a starter kit, your 30w should be more than enough.

I would not reccommend, however, buying instruments for the sake of starting a band. It's a predicament waiting to happen.

What he is trying to say, is get the 12w Bc rich starter amp. Now, you will have to buy the pack with the warlock, but its worth it for your band. Plus, slayer uses them.

Those Ampeg combos work really well, like the BA115 or BA210.

I already play guitar, so it's not like we're all just getting instruments to start a band. The drum kid used to play drums a few years ago and wants to get into it again, and the other kid is a mystery...

30 watt ss? you'll have to crank that up...if you have digitech grunge or death metal distortion your tone will suffer...tell your drummer to play with the practice pads
